TERMS AND CONDITIONS for Faith Retreats™

Faith Retreats™ accepts bookings subject to the following conditions:


Coronavirus Cancellation policy
If we are forced to cancel a retreat due to Portuguese government coronavirus restrictions, we will move your booking to an alternative retreat date ie. we will not be providing refunds. Up to date official information can be found here

Confirmation of booking
Once a booking has been confirmed a confirmation email will be sent to you along with additional retreat information. A booking is accepted and becomes definite only from the date Faith Retreats™ receives your deposit payment. It is at this point that a contract between Faith Retreats™ and the client comes into existence. Before your booking is confirmed and a contract comes into force, Faith Retreats™ reserves the right to increase or decrease prices.
I. Furthermore, we reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
II. Clients agree to have been suitably informed and that they appreciate the risks involved in psychedelic therapy and the use of psilocybin.
III. In addition, Clients must not suffer (or haver ever suffered) from any pre-existing medical condition which may prevent them from actively participating in the retreat.

 

Deposit payment
We require a deposit to confirm a booking, where travel is within 30 days of booking, full payment is required.

Final payment
Your final invoice will be sent to you 14 days before departure (possibly sooner). Payment of the balance is due no later than 7 days prior to departure.

Making payment
Deposit and full payment can be made by Wire Transfer, Credit Card (Via Retreat Guru) or Cash (if pre-agreed).

Booking check-list - Please ensure you are aware of the following important issues before booking a Faith Retreats™ experience:

 

Travel Insurance
Insurance covering you on your itinerary is mandatory for all customers on all Faith Retreats™. You must declare any pre-existing medical conditions to your insurers and ensure you receive written confirmation that any pre-existing medical conditions are fully insured. We advise you to obtain travel insurance as soon as you book, that will cover you for unforeseeable circumstances such as illness or injury that might result in you not being able to take part in your retreat.

 

Insurance Documentation
A copy of your insurance policy detailing policy validity dates cover, and names of those insured must be emailed to us prior to departure.


Passports
All travellers must have passport valid for at least 6 months from the date the retreat ends.

 

Visas
Travellers must obtain entry visas for the destination if required.

 

Fitness and Ability
It is imperative for everyone’s sake that you are healthy and able to participate in our retreats. You are responsible for fully disclosing your medical history to us. We do not accept anyone on our retreats with a history of psychosis, schizophrenia, bi-polar or personality disorders. Please ensure you have read the retreat literature and you are healthy enough to complete the retreat.

 

Flights
It is your responsibility to book flights and arrive on time at the meeting point. If you are on the recommended flight windows, we will arrange transport from Lisbon or Faro Airports to the retreat centre. If you are on another flight, it is your responsibility to arrange transport to the retreat centre.

 

Facilitators
Advertised facilitators for each programme are liable to change without notice. We guarantee at least one female and one male facilitator and at least 1 facilitator per 5 programme participants.

 

Retreat participation
You acknowledge and agree that concerning your medical welfare. Faith Retreats™ has a duty to you and to the other participants and, as such, if the Faith Retreats™ reasonably believes that you are not sufficiently mentally and physically prepared to take part in the retreat, Faith Retreats™ may decline or cancel the booking at any time at their complete discretion without refund or recompense if:
I. any medical problem or disability is disclosed on the medical declaration form;
II. any medical problem or disability is disclosed after the medical declaration form is submitted but before the departure date;
III. any medical problem or disability is not disclosed; provided that in our belief such medical problem or disability is likely to endanger your health and safety and/ or the health and safety of anyone else participating in the retreat.
Clients agree to accept the authority and decisions of Faith Retreats™ ’s employees and agents whilst on retreat with Faith Retreats™. If in the opinion of any such person(s) or any other person in a position of authority (such as, for example, an airline pilot or hotel manager), the health, level of fitness or conduct of a client at any time before or during a retreat is endangering or appears likely to endanger the health or wellbeing of the client or any third party or the safe, comfortable or happy progress of the retreat, the client may be excluded from all or part of the retreat without refund or recompense. Where a client is excluded, Faith Retreats™ will have no further responsibility towards them (including any return travel arrangements) and we will not meet any expenses or costs incurred because of the exclusion. In the case of ill health, Faith Retreats™ may make such arrangements as it sees fit and recover the costs thereof from the client. If a client commits an illegal act (including, for example, causing any damage) the client may be excluded from the retreat and Faith Retreats™ shall cease to have responsibility to/for them as above. No refund will be given for any unused services. When you book with us, you accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss (reasonably estimated if not precisely known) must be made direct to the accommodation owner or manager or other supplier or to us as soon as possible. You should ensure you have appropriate travel insurance to protect you if this situation arises.
If you have any medical condition or disability which may affect your active participation in your retreat or the retreat arrangements of any other person or have any special requirements because of any medical condition or disability (including any which affect the booking process), please tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can assist you in considering the suitability of the proposed retreat and/or making the booking. In any event, you must give us full details at the time of booking and whenever any change in the condition or disability occurs. You must also promptly advise us if any medical condition or disability which may affect your active participation in your retreat or the retreat arrangements of any other person develops after your booking has been confirmed.

Participation in Psilocybin is Voluntary and Free of Charge
The payment for the retreat is for accommodation, food, facilitators, and people working to create a healing and life changing experience. Faith Retreats™ does not charge for the Psilocybin medicine itself. Participation in ceremonies is voluntary and free of charge. Faith Retreats™ is offering a space where Psilocybin can be experienced in a safe, therapeutic and sacred context. Each participant is responsible for the ingestion of the medicine.

Disclaimer
Please not that we do not promote the consumption of a psychoactive substance or supply a psychoactive substance. We offer a retreat service for people who have decided they want to partake in a psychedelic experience for which they have taken personal responsibility for, and who have obtained a psychoactive substance externally from a third party.

Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any injury, damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of “force majeure”. In these conditions, “force majeure” means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include whether actual or threatened war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, disease, fire and all similar events outside our control.

 

Complaints
Should the client have a complaint about any of the retreat arrangements, the client must tell Faith Retreats™ ’s representative at the time. It is only if Faith Retreats™ know about problems that there will be the opportunity to put things right.
